Raise of hands, how many of you have tried some fad diet or some workout program that guaranteed you would ‘lose 10 lbs in 10 days’?

Initially these plans seem great, like they will reverse the years of bad eating and unhealthy habits. After a couple weeks (or even a couple days), you

lose interest or you had great results but can’t maintain them. They don’t work.

What does work is consistency. Consistency getting to the gym. Consistency eating healthy. Consistency making better decisions about your health

instead of taking the easy way out. Consistency switching bad habits for good ones. Consistency working your a$$ off to see results.

Our athlete this month, Tara proves that this is really the key to a healthy lifestyle. The changes we have seen from her in the past year are nothing short

of awesome!

When did you start doing CrossFit/training at CFM?
April 2014

Favorite WOD or movement?

Least favorite WOD or movement?
I have a list!

Tell us about your sports/fitness background?
Random gym type classes, nothing that I stuck with long term.

Take us back to your first WOD… what was it and how did it feel?
My sister-in-law recommended that I give it a try (thank you!) and after I used every excuse I could think of, I gave in and went for my base line “test”. I don’t remember what my first WOD was…I do remember feeling awkward and clumsy BUT I also felt comfortable with the members and coaches and I walked out thinking Ok, I can do this.

What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CF?
I didn’t realize how “unhealthy” I was before CF. After a few weeks of classes, I had more energy, felt stronger and started to notice changes in how my body looked.

What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like CrossFit that were totally unexpected?
I have always felt like exercise was more of a chore than something I enjoyed to do. I expected to feel the same way about CF but haven’t.
I really enjoy the classes and the feeling of accomplishment when you do a WOD you haven’t done before or you do it better than the time before.

Any advice for people that are just getting started in CrossFit?
Never say never! You will be able to accomplish workouts that you would have never thought possible and you will feel great about yourself. CF really will change your outlook on fitness.
